Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A dry leaf will crumple at the slightest miss-touch, more fragile than rice paper. Tread carefully or else it'll break into a hundred pieces. Damages done to something so brittle cannot be retracted or recalled. You can't fill in the cracks.

That leaf is Lisce...at least that's what her brother Klo thinks. There's a level of tenderness and absolute devotion he fervently expresses towards his precious little sister that's conspicuously absent in all his other dealings. He is fiercely protective of her and determined to shield her from everything, convinced that she'll crumble apart like her namesake if he lets his guard down. To him she's everything good in this world.

But he fails to realize she's a general's daughter. His sister. She's strong; strength and constitution is in her blood. Lisce itches to spread her wings, but she can't bring herself break her devoted big brother's heart. She loves him just as much and although he doesn't see it, she protects him just as zealously.
