Terrae Dragons are primarily herbivores who prefer to eat from the tops of trees. However, due to their massive size, they must rely on small, specialized scales to absorb and convert energy from the sun. Since they live in tightly-knit groups, this form of energy absorption helps preserve the forests in which these dragons reside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In Anibi's short life, he has already learned much of the street smarts you might expect from a dragon five times his age. That's because when he was very young, scantly a couple weeks old, he saw something truly awful. The dragons of the Nebbia Clan brutally attacked some of the Ferox clan for territory.

In all of the chaos and confusion that ensued, Anibi was attacked by one of his own clan; who believed him to be inferior, for his parents were from Nebbia. The young hatchling was sliced open from the base of his neck to around mid-stomach before one of the Ferox, horrified, launched herself at the other dragon. The culprit, Isvalyti, fled and so did the rest of the Nebbia. Anibi was nursed back to health by his savior, Anilan.

Anibi still bears the scar. It is the reason he and his mate, Almika, dont belong to the Nebbia. He tries to shield her from the world, determined not to see someone of her flawless innocence experience the same fate.
