Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It must be very shy since it keeps hiding from you.

It’s gotten slightly bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Terrified of his parents and the other adult dragons in the nesting site, Leo'Nardo ran away shortly after hatching. Alone and starving, he was found by the leader of The Lost Dragons and taken in, after being cared for so well he decided to join the group permanently by deciding to remain a hatchling for the rest of his life. Though he is shy, as all mint dragons are, he does not show it at all around the other members of the group, not even the new ones. He does not cause trouble like the rest of his companions, and prefers to stay back at their camp and tidy up the area. He can often be found with Vivalie, Spring'Rain, Aldrovanda, and Lahlu when he has nothing better to do, though for some reason Vivalie keeps her distance from him.
