Deep Sea Dragons, as their name suggests, spend most of their time in the darkest depths of the sea. They have a bioluminescent dorsal spine that serves to attract prey and communicate with their own kind. As with many deep sea animals, they generally eat whatever they can manage to bait. They rarely leave the ocean floor, surfacing only during breeding season. When they do choose to travel to the shallower depths, they avoid bright lights and will only come up far away from shore.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Sottomare is dark by nature. Moody. A real depressive. She loves to suck coral from rocks and chew on bits of dead octopus that have floated down to the ocean floor. She actually quite likes live octopus—but she has to rise from the depths to get at them, so she tends to wait till she's in heat for that particular treat.

As she is deeply antisocial, she has few friends—and doesn't care. So although Aquahippo sometimes dives down for a visit she is never exactly welcoming—and he is particularly bouncy !

Regrettably, Sottomare swears like a trooper. This has the effect of excluding her from polite society, so she cultivates the trait for all she is worth. She knows words that aren't in any dictionary of obscenities and uses them—usually with devastating results—to repel anyone who tries to be her friend ! But she does want to breed. Eventually.
