Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nishant—"the end of night"—is a high-spirited Sunrise dragon.  He loves the life of his flock, and the sparkle of sunlight as it dances across opalescent lakes below him.  He is passionate and sometimes careless, often willing to forsake a goal for a simple pleasure in the present—in all cases but one.  For though his realm is that of the daylight, Nishant Arun is the lifetime mate of the Sunset dragon, Donoma.  Their love is shared only in secret, hidden from the eyes of their respective families.  They meet during the brief blending of night and day, at the first tendrils of light at dawn and the last rays at dusk, where their worlds of extremes fade to gray and touch—ever so gently—in the middle.
