Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Stubborn and sometimes heartless, Rio is a real pain of a dragon who refuses to do anything she doesn't want to do unless she can hurt whoever wants to make her do it first. However, if she ever learns to trust someone, she's a total sweetheart, rather calm and trusting, and will sometimes bring little 'presents' of dead, half-eaten prey. She doesn't have much common sense, but is a great fighter, and usually wins most battles she enters—which is a good thing, because she sets her heart on protecting those she loves. Rio loves to fly around at night, using her dark colors to blend in with the dark sky.
