Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Extra Love just wants a hug. Maybe a pat on the back. Ever since he hatched from his egg, this dragon has wanted nothing more than to be accepted. Loved. Yet sadly, no one regards him as anything more than a common Dorsal, one with no bright red fin to distinguish him from the others.

He's tried so hard to earn other dragons' attention and affections. He cleans the cave for everyone, watches over the hatchlings, and will even keep watch when he would much rather be sleeping. But it never works. To be honest, they just see Extra Love's kind actions to be artificial and desperate.

Only the latter is true.

Thus, this dragon is included but not paid any attention to in parties, meetings, social gatherings, etc. He is the one that is taken for granted, considered a nuisance. He blends into the crowd, though he wishes from the bottom of his heart this wasn't the case.

All he ever really wants is a hug.
