Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems shy, but loves attention.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little one is perfectly at ease when she is showering others with affection!  Although she gives it freely, she has been forced to defend herself from ne'er-do-wells on a number of occasions. Despite her diminutive size, her heart seems to carry enough warmth and kindness for any number of creatures. Whether this behaviour is a result of her Valentine-induced nature, or some tweak of divine design, remains to be seen.
