Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kransh is the dragon of his clan in charge of night hunting. He likes to go after big animals to brag about how he beat them in the near total darkness, going so far as to sometimes attacking other dragons, which got him into trouble more than once. Everyone still remembers the time he appeared with an unconscious hatchling in his mouth, saying he defeated the father so he had the right to claim his prize. Five minutes later, the angry mother showed up attacking everyone. Luckily, the hatchling was scared but fine, and some female dragons were able to sort things out without anyone getting too hurt. Since then, the male dragons have been taking turns to go with Kransh in his night hunting in groups of two to prevent him from doing something reckless again.
