Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Horngarde is the leader of his clan. Horngarde teaches the young how to fight, and chivalry.

Horngarde enjoys sharpening his teeth. Before Horngarde flies to a war, he always bring Lavir's secret potion of strength, of speed and of knowledge. He goes snooping around his room looking for burnt, nibbled on, old maps of the war grounds. Horngarde always picks Beana for the force because she is speedy and can attack her opponent quickly. Eventually, Horngarde has a feeling that he's not happy somehow and he wishes he can get happy.

Horngarde takes a little interest in Beana and someday hopes he and Beana will have a egg together.

Horngarde finally got the courage to ask Beana out and breed a egg. Horngarde had a egg with Beana but eventually, he was forced to let go of his and Beana's egg for his owner was scroll locked. Horngarde got over the sadness of his first egg for he and Beana had a new one and Horngarde vows to take care of it like a Guardian Dragon.
