Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bob was abandoned as an egg by his original owner, even though he had begun to hatch. Lancer soon found and adopted him, and upon seeing his poor condition, rushed him immediately to emergency care. Upon hatching, he was given his name: Bob the Almighty, to signify his status as guardian of Lancer's eggs and hatchlings. Since then, he has been credited with defending over 200 raids, 120 thefts, and has even helped provide care for the other dragons. He is not only protective, he is wise and intelligent as well, often helping the younger dragons solve their problems. Although he is not actually "almighty" in the literal sense of the word, he has yet to encounter a raider he can't stop or a thief he can't spot. He has never left the cave, as he feels that he owes his life to Lancer, and supreme guardian of Lancer's eggs is the perfect thing to return the favor. Ever since he saw Delila, he fell in love with her, and protects her with great enthusiasm.
