And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.
Glowing-Sun is a Sunstone Dragon hatchling, the son of Glower the Sunstone Dragon and Dimmer the Moonstone Dragon. Glowing-Sun likes to fly around a lot, and prefers to stay close to his parents. He plays a lot with the other hatchlings, and gets into occasional fights with the other hatchlings that are close to maturing. He usually wins these fights as his father taught him how to fight, but is anti-social like his mother.
