Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jocoba was once the Leader of a large Herd of Horse Dragons. But when a natural disaster leaves Jocoba alone, he is more lost than he has ever been. For days Jocoba wandered the land, looking for other Horse Dragons to lead. One day he stumbled upon the Valley Herd. He had never seen a herd so small. Three dragons led by a female. At first, Rhiannon couldn't stand the stranger. He continued to hang around in the Valley. He wasn't sure why. As Rhiannon couldn't stand him, he couldn't stand her. Time dragged by. The seasons continued their cycles. Jocoba and Rhiannon SLOWLY warmed up to each other. After the passing of so many Summers, she finally allowed him into her Herd. Just two years later they became Mates, and Jocoba became the Leader of the Valley Herd. His Mate can be a bit suffocating at times. She will never allow him to mate with any other Horse Dragon, and watches him constantly.
