Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Eques Lux is the founder of the Knights of Creation, a society of Lumina dragons who protect the skies above the Dragon Cave from the forces of those who wish to destroy it. Eques Lux is a wise old dragon, weathered in many battles with monsters like the Lagmonster. Now that the monsters have left and the dragons of the cave have relatively ceased fighting, Lux has become more peaceful and mellow. He lives at the top of a high mountain overlooking the Caves so that he can avoid fights, and only descends when there is an issue. It is said that his fire burns the hottest of any Lumina, and that it is scarlet red.
