Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pterrador is one of the oldest of Aldyrine's dragons, and by far the most powerful.  In size, he dwarfs most of the others, though he tends to be very dainty and mindful of his stature.  Also, of all of his brood-mates, Pterrador is the most temperamental.  His hide is riddled with scars of many fights, some beyond his owner's knowledge, most likely with dragons beyond her care.  He is a warrior, and undisputed alpha dragon of her cove.  He is a quiet king, but quick to anger, and is swiftly becoming infuriated with one of the newest males of the cove: Anthurym.  While he is the alpha, he respects Aldyrine's dominance as breeder, and does not cross her often.  When he does, as he has once or twice (when in an especially irritable state) he finds half of the dragons in the cove ganging up against him to protect her, despite his status.  Azriellan, Crymson Midnyght, Incindeo, and Knightwyng all sport scars from one such attempt.
