It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shimmerscale dragons are widely revered as some of the rarest and most beautiful dragons in existence. In comparison, purple dragons fall rather... short. Her family never voiced such thoughts, but outsiders did, soon leaving Puru feeling disenchanted and lesser among her shining kin. So it was that she struck out on her own--only to soon fall into good company with three other purples, other outcasts of society, all on their way to find a new home. While always a bit more elegant than her friends (her background was far more dignified than theirs), she nonetheless is an integral part of the Putz Band, joining in on their rip roaring delinquency up and down the coast and back. All that changed, though, when they found a sorceress offering them a new home--and a new family. Things are much calmer now (although the group's still quite mischievous), yet another adventure may await... for, to her great shock, Puru has begun to think of the band's leader as more than just a friend.
