When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nereus is the 2nd youngest dragon in Tier 3, the 8th male dragon overall, and the 12th dragon overall. Nereus has a very calm personality. He can remain calm even in the most stressing situations. Nereus is very smart. He loves to read books. Because he is the only Water Dragon in the clan, he gets very lonely not having anyone to constantly converse with, so he reads books to keep him preoccupied. But he doesn't mind being alone, it fits his personality and he feels that if he wasn't alone, then the other dragon would annoy him and keep him from reading. He loves to study about other countries and cultures. Ever since he was a hatchling, he dreamed about exploring the world and visiting all the cultures he read about. Now that he is an adult, he does just that. One week out of every month, leaves his clan's territory and visits other countries. The clan loves to hear the stories he has to tell from his travels. He also gives out great advice to the rest of the clan.
