When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

His name means "Intelligent" in Japanese. He is the son of Eri and Mizuru, produced from a brief fling. Regardless of his origins, he is and always has been very loved by both his parents. Due to his need to be near water, he was raised by his dad, and was visited frequently by his mother. As his name implies, he is indeed very smart, and is something of an inventor. While he lacks the motor skills to produce most of his inventions himself, he often gives Remy (the valley's caretaker) designs to follow. He is almost always thrilled with the results, and is very grateful to his friend Remy. He met Fuji while testing out one of his inventions, she was very impressed with him, and he with her. They decided to spend some time together, and soon they were courting. When he proposed he found a beautiful pearl at the bottom of the ocean and presented it to Fuji as an engagement gift. She accepted, and soon they were mates. They love each other so much and always will.
