Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Prince Kuon, of the shimmerscale court, comes from a lineage of dragons renowned for a reputation for luck. Whether true or not, it is generally believed by all the dragons of the clan that he is not only lucky himself but he has the ability to bestow luck on others as well. More than once, they say, has his inherent good luck saved the clan from some disaster or brought it some windfall that otherwise could never have happened. The prince's denial of having any such power doesn't stop the vast majority of dragons from believing in it. Beyond his court duties, he has become the unofficial clan 'good luck charm'. Dragons line up to seek an audience with the shimmer prince in hopes that a little bit of that fabled luck will rub off on them and, oddly enough, most of the time, they meet with increased success afterwards. He, of course, would argue that this is coincidence, but the dragons of the JavaTiger clan all swear by Kuon the lucky, and, if truth be told, he likes the attention.
