Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Enrageis was not always such a vicious, furious creature. He was raised at Christmastime, surrounded by colorful and cheerful dragons of all holiday stripes, and he was counted among their ranks, a pale blue dragon of fluffy mane and gentle temperament. Among those dragons was a dear friend of his, a Snow Angel who hatched next to him and had been all but inseparable since.

It was not to last. A nearby human mage had been experimenting with raising the undead, and one night his friend went missing. He tracked her scent, only to find that she had been trapped and slain, for the sole purpose of being raised as a rotten beast. Something snapped in this Aegis's mind then, and his demeanor changed instantly, a change so violent that it twisted his very appearance. He immediately slew the mage, but it brought him no closure; his friend was still gone, and the senseless nature of her death torments him to this day.
