Black Tea Dragons have small scent glands on the underside of their wing arm that release a pleasant scent. Though many creatures enjoy being in the vicinity of Black Tea dragons, the scent is intended to draw in swarms of butterflies. Though Black Tea dragons are full sized dragons, these insects are the mainstay of their diet.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Teeladen was one of the dragons to arrive at the clan during the great Fractional Pie Day exodus of 36 AH. On his journey he had met several wonderful humans, like Sockpuppet, but in the end he arrived at Herk's clan and was easily convinced to stay with this ragtag band of chaotic individuals.

Teeladen has the most variable scent glands among all the dragons of his clan, he can consciously manipulate the way he smells to attract all different kinds of butterflies, insects, and females. As a hatchling he learned about Heartseekers and the way they use smells to gently "nudge" (manipulate) dragons towards potential mates and has worked long and hard to achieve a similar effect through his own smell. Most male dragons (and a few females) find his scent cocktail a bit too much though and avoid his company when possible.
