It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Hyacinth was found, neglected and starving, in the woods near Rekha Cave.  Someone had tied her to a tree and left her there.  Fortunately, Balanus was out making leaf-piles and found her, and brought her back to the cave before it was too late.  It took all of Alabaster's healing magic -- plus a boost from Snowdrop -- to save her, but save her they did.  Hyacinth refuses to discuss anything about her life prior to her arrival at Rekha Cave, and none of the other dragons push her on the matter.  A little more delicate and frail than most dragons, she prefers to stay inside the cave and is generally found watching over the eggs and hatchlings, often with Harriet the chicken perched on her shoulder.  When she has bad dreams -- usually a few times a week -- the Neverland Hatchlings will snuggle up to her in an attempt to comfort her.
