Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bless the Sky was pampered as the first shiny dragon to join this cave. Everyone crowded around her, and other hatchlings got jealous, turning their back on her. This hurt Bless the Sky. She didn't ask for this attention. In fact, she didn't like it. Bless the Sky had a hard time growing up. All the hatchlings turned against her, bullying her with words. These painful words cut into her heart. The hatchlings avoided trouble easily, lying about what they were doing, or saying the bronze tinsel was lying. They always bullied her when no one was there to witness. Bless the Sky lived a gray life, but eventually the hatchlings got over it as the tinsel was treated as normal as others by adult dragons. Relieved, Bless the Sky can live a normal dragon life, with her mate Leaves of August. Though sometimes the hatchlings throw her an irritated glare.
