Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

PND is and always was a rebel. He attributes this to his great-great-great-... -grandmother the legendary Penk, a Tinsel so non-conformist that she didn't even have metallic scales. Whenever a dragon points out to PND that he should be a bit more mature and act his age instead of like an adolescent hatchling he likes to point out that "Penk's not dead and as long as that holds true I will never conform myself."
