Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Goldie Haawn is called Haawn by her clanmates. She is rather vain but has one of the most gentle dispositions you would ever find in a gold dragon. She is also rather timid. Not overly so but she does tend to hide in the cave with the eggs and hatchlings when she can. She is one of the smartest of the clan's many dragons and many of the clan speculate her timidity is not cowardice but an intelligent response to knowing she would be killed on sight for her scales if she were ever seen by humans, apart from her clan's own human that is. Whatever the reason, Haawn has become a self appointed cave and hatchling caretaker and her clan loves her for it.
