Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ula has a rather untamed personality. She tends to be extremely rebelious, never to abide by any rule but her own. With a lashing tongue, she is quick to speak her mind and never too nicely either.

It's also possible Ula is the first recorded case of A.D.D. in a dragon. Nothing can hold her attentions for more than a few hours. This is one thing many of the other dragons have found as annoying; for one second she'll have her hackles raised, freaking out at them, the next she'll walk off blabbing about some random thing.

Despite this, Ula's greatest problem lies in vain and bossy Kirayji. At first, he was somewhat attracted to her rebel attitude, but after refusing all advances by him, he is determined to make her life a living hell.

There may be something of a romance blossoming between her and often-disconnected Frusto, however...
