Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, the sky has been full of very dark clouds.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Lystrah was discovered by Varrik as a newly hatched dragonet one day, and subsequently taken in. Solera (Varrik's mate) was reluctant to accept the little one at first, but finally came around and let Lystrah stay. Shortly thereafter, the adoptive parents discovered that Lystrah was unable to mature due to an issue with malnutrition in the egg. She will never mature past a dragonet, both in physical appearance and emotional maturity. Her intelligence continues to grow, but she's ever impatient and childlike.

As far as personality goes, Lystrah is impetuous and continually active. She loves to seek knowledge, but cannot sit still for long and generally carries her books with her on long pacing sessions. She has a quick temper, but grievances are shortly forgotten in lieu of something new.

Amusing fact: Varrik is more of a mother to her than Solera.
