This hatchling appears to be... dead?

Perhaps not. It seems to be active during the night.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This unfortunate Hatchling was named for the Lithuanian word for "blood". Kraujass isn't very happy with his lot in life. He not only hates being a member of the Undead, but he isn't very good at it either. More often than not, his intended prey gets away from this clumsy little Hatchling, and he goes hungry. He hates drinking blood, hates the dark, and hates the fact that none of the other Hatchlings will play with him, and more than anything else, wishes he could be a normal Dragon...
