This is a baby chick, not a dragon. So what was it doing in the dragons’ cave?

Nothing Gold is a friend to The Hardest Hue to Hold, a literary-minded Terrae hatchling, and is often the only one allowed to stay when he buries himself in his poetry. They are very close, and she even knows one of his darkest secrets: he named himself after some human writing he found one day, but his name doesn't match the writing exactly, as he didn't want to be named "Her Hardest Hue". She knows just as well that he's a little embarrassed about this bit of vanity, though, so she's never told anyone.

Hue is her favorite poet -- but he's also the only poet she actually knows. Her knowledge of any other poetry comes from Hue's sudden and frequent lectures.

Nothing Gold is patient and curious enough that she doesn't mind listening to Hue when he starts rambling about one subject or another in a well-meaning attempt to share trivia he's collected, but she intervenes when he starts to ramble at someone less interested.
