Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A loyal deputy of Night Artemis, Shiranui-ku is in the top ten list of most annoyingly serious dragons in the whole pack. She takes her job as deputy strictly, so much so that Amaterasu-ku—another deputy—quit the position for a decade. Of course, this did not bother Shiranui-ku, since she was too busy watching over Night Artemis.

Shiranui's idea of loyalty might even be called an obsession, watching the proud leader on a constant basis, even if she must hide her presence. Very few dragons know of this attitude of hers, but the ones that do cannot bring themselves to tell Night Artemis, in fear that it will break Shiranui's honorable heart.

Shiranui is a slightly duller srade than other Sunset dragons, with a a few scales missing. This is due to the fact that she once saved Kura Okami from a rockfall. The damage based around her tail makes her flying increasingly unstable as well.
