Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Elegant and kind-spirited, Cypress is often seen as the monarch of joy and good will in her clan. However, Cypress is a silent dragon, choosing to speak with her actions, rather than words. It is not rare at all to see her giving a small gift to the hatchlings, completely of her own accord. And during their play, she will join them without hesitation. Members of the clan who had raised Cypress say that she had grown with magnificent color in her wings, but as she aged, the colorful feathers faded and fell out. Not daunted at all by the loss of her vibrant feathers, she proudly displays her now snow white wings, as a message to younger dragons that elegance is not solely in one's appearance.
