When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Waterhorse86 lives at the bottom of the sea like many other dragons of her kind. Her life has been wonderful, she has a job at the local wave making company and has many friends but recently things in the sea haven't been so great. As more and more humans have learned about the water dragons they have been hunting them down and trying to kill them for their magnificent scales forcing the Waterhorse86's pod to move to a new mating ground and live in constant fear. Waterhorse86 is scared the most but not for herself. She is worried about the future generations of water dragons and the eggs they left behind at their old mating ground. Waterhorse86 decided to stay behind at their old mating grounds when everyone left to guard the eggs when no one else would. Unlike them she was going to watch after the babies of the pod and make sure they entered the world safely with one of their kind smiling over them as they open their eyes to a whole new world.
