Deep Sea Dragons, as their name suggests, spend most of their time in the darkest depths of the sea. They have a bioluminescent dorsal spine that serves to attract prey and communicate with their own kind. As with many deep sea animals, they generally eat whatever they can manage to bait. They rarely leave the ocean floor, surfacing only during breeding season. When they do choose to travel to the shallower depths, they avoid bright lights and will only come up far away from shore.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Mighty Iannerous, the bane of Sharks, the doom of fish, the whale slayer, the krakken killer, the squid eater, and dread of fishermen, is a mighty dragon. She was the first dragon egg the human wizard RedDracolich found. She is fond of gems, especialy pearls, so if one were to ever hope to gain her friendship, a good way would be to give her a pearl. She is very kind and careing, and usualy she will help any human she comes across, (although, the human must be a wizard to be able to survive the deep sea) and will insist on giveing the human a gift. The gift is usualy small, but if you know her friend RedDracolich, she will let you have a pearl from her collection. She has saved the life of many sailors by eating a krakken when it attemps to attack a ship. However, she takes her payment for these acts buy eating the catch of a fisherman.
