Considered heralds of ill fortune, Omen Wyrms are usually found in areas previously ravaged by disaster or strife, blending in amongst the foliage. Due to the unique appearance and texture of their bodies, they often pass as dead trees as they wait for unsuspecting prey. Their haunting cry—like that of a hollow-sounding horn—is a sure signal to run: it is always followed by the dragons’ furious wrath, which manifests in the form of fiery cascades. Escape from an Omen Wyrm is possible, however; it is said they will not dare follow their quarry across running water, no matter the cause of their vexation.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Maladroit is the Alpha Omen in SL's cave, and is one of the scariest creatures to ever be unleashed onto the scroll. He is absolutely massive and constantly spilling eerily-glowing flames from his jaws, which then swirl around his spiked serpentine body and threaten to consume any being that gets too close.

Not even the Desipises dare to confront Maladroit. He is the harbinger, the precursor to utter terror and devastation. Everything in his path is burned and ruined, with purplish flames flickering in his charred wake. Any dragon who opposes him is either burned to a crisp or strangled to death, and if the body is leftover it is quickly devoured, leaving no trace of the victim.

Fear him. He is the caves' worst nightmares come to life. One day he will kill them all, or so his chilling cries foretell.
