Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ciar is a passionate young dragon with a thirst for battle. He never used to be eager to fight, but as a hatchling the other dragons told him all about how Black dragons were the fiercest warriors of the land. Succumbing to the pressure, he began to train under the watchful eye of the best fighters in the clan, and soon proved that his skills outmatched those of all who challenged him. He now spends his time guarding his fellow dragons, and is respected among others of his age. Ciar is now the one who is sought out when others have questions about battle strategies, and he is happy to help them out. He wishes only to make his parents proud, and he shares an exceptionally close bond with his mother, Sevoug. What Ciar does not see, however, is the grief in her eyes as she watches him become just like the brutal black dragons of the clan from which she fled.
