It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Zannya is a very peaceful and meditative dragon, and most of her day is spent on breathing exercises and aligning her inner chakras. Many dragons shake their heads at her silliness, but others just let her be, happy that she has found something to make her happy. Zannya trades rare flowers for specialized zen crystals, and has a ton of them hanging around her zen garden. They throw the light and make rainbows, so Zannya's garden looks more like a disco party than a meditation sanctuary most of the time. Zannya's garden is her pride and joy, with a koi pond and a peaceful waterfall, a rock garden and a bush maze. But her garden is never filled with many dragons, as the haunting sound of her shishi odoshi, the deer scare fountain, is very scary to most and drives them away.
