Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has brightly colored fins on its back.

And look! It has grown larger fins! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

ALilLavendar is a loving and playful dragon.  Her dorsal fins grew in with a nice bright purple coloration, so she knew she would one day grow up to be one of the lucky dragons to attract a mate. Being a little conceited she would brag to the other dragons around her age. As time passed her peers kept growing into beautiful grown adult dragons while she stayed little. She couldn't figure it out, but for some odd reason it seemed as if maybe she bragged a little more than she should have, and would end up being young forever. So when she gets a chance she takes time with the young dragons and tell them her story so that they will not make the same mistake she had.
