And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young drakes are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own.

Feeling a Bit Peckish actually is not often hungry. He really should have been called 'Feeling a Bit Whiny,' because all he does is whine about how all the other dragons get cool names, and his has nothing whatsoever to do with himself.

The only thing that can get him to be quiet is for Midnight Predator to threaten to eat him if he doesn't be quiet, and even that bit of quiet doesn't last long.

It is suspected that very few dragons would be upset if Midnight Predator did eat Feeling a Bit Peckish, and it is just as strongly suspected that quite a few dragons wish she would.
