Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Practically killed as an egg, Orkami is a very fragile Snow Stripe (white stripe). His parents were thought to be dragons from the Killing, but this is untrue. He was actually raised from a pack of dragons, and his foster dad was the pack leader Sha'lon. Orkami was treated terribly, often thought out as an outcast. He was finally kicked out after Sha'lon was murdered by another pack which sided with a clan. Orkami was so much happier once he joined the Uncita clan. Everyone was nice to him and he was so much friendlier than he was in the past. Orkami cannot fight as well as others, and is not allowed in dragon wars, even if the war is small. He eats and survives best in winter, like most Snow Stripes can.
