Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Some dragons have sad tales, and some have miserable tales, and some have both.

This creature was raised to be a king; his owner pampered him and promised him a ferociously awesome name and a hot alternate black female to start a lineage with and stroked his ego in absolutely every way possible. And then his owner realized that his dad was named Mojo Jojo.

His owner tearfully explained that that killed any possibility of starting an uber-epic lineage with him, and that the incredible name she'd been planning to give him would have to be reserved for a caveborn dorsal; this set the dragon into screeching murderous mode and attempted to maul his owner for giving him such a stupid father, and as the human fled screaming she screeched 'oh lordy;' since the dragon hadn't yet been named, the others of the cave assumed this was his title and it has stuck to the disgruntled creature ever since.
