Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Moonstone Aventurine is a dragon of near mythical beauty, as are most Silvers. However, as she was lucky enough to be raised by Ameythyst, she has not let this go to her head. Moonstone is a poetess of some renown, and has spent some time in the East. She is very dedicated to her art. She is reputed to have been an inspiration to Qu Yuan during his exile, and indeed, she has written poems regarding the Well of Faces in his honor. The others of the Weyr enjoy her serene ways and her poetry recitals are always a cause for a gathering of the Clans.
