Diamondwing Dragons are named for the myriad tiny scales that grow on their wing membranes, lending them a faceted, lustrous appearance. These meticulous creatures will spend months ranging far and wide to collect the shiniest trinkets and gemstones to adorn their nests. Once his nest is complete, a male Diamondwing will perform an elaborate aerial dance hoping to impress potential mates with his beauty and prowess.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Queen Diamond is the ruler of the Luna Tribe. Though she has had two dragonets with Sieglar, a Brute Dragon, she has claimed that the hatchlings were "an accident" and has not officially chosen a king or a mate yet. The Diamondwing tries to be fair in her decisions and to please her people, but there have been several assassination attempts though she does not know who the culprit may be. Diamond is known for taking in abandoned eggs and hatchlings to protect them from the horrors of the outside world, which is why her tribe is mostly comprised of dragons who have parents that they're rather uncomfortable talking about.
