Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Onyxzues PureShade (after the gemstone: Onyx) joined the clan cave as its 173rd member, a gift from a mysterious enchantress known only as the Lady Wizard. He was born of pure, black line blood, and unlike many of the others of his kind within the Mystal Clan, he abhors physical violence, preferring instead the arts of magic, mystery and calculated strategy. When a force mobilizes to confront a threat to the clan cave, he stands at the ready to do untold damage and destruction magically, from his vast arsenal of both offensive and defensive magics. He spends most of his time developing his talents, furthering his knowledge and skills in an endless pursuit of magical perfection. Most of his clan mates give him a rather wide berth, not for any specific, proven reason, simply out of respect for his abilities and dedication to his chosen specialty. Some of the clan females have attempted courtship with him, but as of yet, he has shown no interest in their advances. Perhaps some day!
