Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Brought up on tales of noble dragons and beautiful princesses, Opphyria has decided that she wants to copy both at once, and become a dragon princess. The fact that dragons live in sociable colonies with no real leaders is only a minor obstacle to this dream-filled hatchling, who frequently steals shiny things from Wondrous' collection to make herself makeshift jewellery: a ring becomes a crown, a broken hair-clip a sceptre.
