Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hallow Illuminais is the first Black dragon in the clan and became the first of the elite warriors that protect the clan's territory and members. Hallow was born magically weak and was unable to control even the simplest magic. To make up for this, he worked extremely hard to hone his fighting skills and became the great warrior he is today.

His mate is the beautiful daughter of Brasilith Stronghunt-Dorkface, Kasiath. Because both of them were so focused on their roles within the clan, they decided to give their eggs away to be raised within other clans. They have only ever raised one egg themselves and were delighted when their son Blackmarket hatched as a rare alternative black. Hallow was also pleased that his son is able to use magic and has great pride in his achievements.
