Caligene Dragons have long been considered omens of death—reinforced by the skeletal markings on their bodies. They exert a malignant force on the world around them, causing other living things to slowly waste away in their presence. Caligenes favor the seasons of summer and autumn, disappearing entirely from the forests they inhabit during winter and spring. These malevolent dragons are physically weak, though this is countered by their natural stealthiness and alarming speed—enabling them to close in on large targets quickly and silently to create ambushes from which prey cannot escape.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Another leader in The Queen's Shadow, the head of the chapter known as The Alacritous Wraiths, spy dragons who pride themselves on their paranormal stealth and unsurpassed speed.

Above all stands this dragoness, Mystic Spirit Quartz. Nicknamed The Eyes In The Dark, there are few who are so keen of eye as to see her approach, merely getting glimpses of movement in the dark, so minimal as to be brushed off as nothing, only for the viewer to leap out of their scales when baleful red eyes appear and a disembodied voice comes from the shadows.

While some of her subordinates use their stealth to play pranks and cause mischief, Mystic is highly critical of such hatchling-behaviours, quickly clamping down on it when she catches it with a flash of her claws on the perpetrator, followed by a vicious verbal reprimand.

Mystic takes her duties very seriously, and woe betide any who would make her chapter seem like a joke.
