Moonstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moons’ power.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Azmadus is extremely hot-tempered for a moonstone dragon. This is painfully clear to anyone who observes him: he slightly raises his voice when angry, he tells children who are trying to pull his feathers out to stop it, and he even dares to occasionally eat poor innocent BUGS! Needless to say this abhorrent behavior has made the other moonstones quite afraid of him--all, that is, save his father and grandfathers, who quite understand his ancestry and what it entails. Four generations of gray dragon grandmammies will do that to you, after all! While the reassurances of his parents and kin mean a lot to him, the sensitive moonstone still sometimes bursts into tears over how terribly mean he is, at which point only the comforting words of his mate Monochrome can calm him.
