Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
He doesn't seem to have much of a personality, at a first impression. Erike Laquan comes across as the oh-so-cliched strong and silent type.
He and the water walker, Masenqueras, hatched and grew up at around the same time. She was always the more exuberant one, with Erike usually trailing after her like a loyal little dog. But as a result of this bond, they are very close. Masenqueras feels comfortable confiding in Erike, and he in turn tries not to keep things from her.
Masenqueras is therefore one of those who know what Erike can really be like, when you take the time to get to know him. He is thoughtful (that is; he thinks a lot), loyal, and as passionate as Khasima when you allow him to be. Although he is generally rather quiet, Erike can argue his point for many minutes if something is raised that he feels strongly about. As a result of this, he possesses several wounds and scars, most across his belly, from when these sort of arguments have resulted in physical violence.
