Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hayzee is an enigma. She often speaks in rhyme or riddle, simply because she enjoys using her talents with mana for fun, unlike her fellow Ingenuus. To her elders and to her juniors, she smiles, and gazes with a faraway stare. Here is her favorite response to nearly any question (which annoys pretty much everyone.):

"I am a cloud in the wind, a sly patch of haze

I live in the air and while away the days

Riddling and eating

Asking before sleeping

Waiting, then waking; just like all of you

But not

Quite

Nearly.

I am not a king, queen, mage, or scholar

Not a prince, or a goddess, or knave.

Just a dewdrop on the winds, whiling away the hours

As I watch you all below, going about your days."

No one really understands her, but she's a pleasant dragon to be around most of the time. Just try not to ask her very many questions that can be responded to in a cryptic, poetic fashion.
