Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

CitrineGoldfishMoon is a Goldfish Dragon hatchling who loves her life. She's a unique character, unlike any in her cave. CitrineGoldfishMoon is slightly off in some way. She tends to make some other dragons a little nervous, as if she might attack them. They are way off base, though; she's a pacifist. CitrineGoldfishMoon is a conspiracy nut, to put it bluntly. She believes that a group of Water Walkers is trying to get her. However, one isn't paranoid if they are really out to get them. Whether or not anyone is actually out to get her, CitrineGoldfishMoon is odd but not dangerous. She hears voices in her head that tell her about the secret plans of her "enemies" to overthrow the ruling Council of the cave all of them belong to.
